Aubrie L. Taylor, Ph.D.

Associate Technician

Aubrie L. Taylor joined MRA Forensic Sciences in October 2018.  Aubrie has worked on hundreds of cases that span a spectrum of accidents including motor vehicle accident investigation, accident reconstruction, injury biomechanics, and injury causation analysis.

Aubrie has both a B.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University.  Her doctoral research focus was spine biomechanics. Specifically, Aubrie analyzed and improved research protocols for ex vivo spine flexibility testing to obtain biomechanical characterization of the spine.  The research created clear and concise testing protocols, corrected misconceptions with the testing methodology, and resulted in the design, fabrication, and validation of a vertebral clamp attachment for use in ex vivo testing.

Aubrie's design work resulted in the issuance of US Patent 10,070,894, titled “Compliant vertebral attachment device”.  The foundation of the work has since been expounded on to create a medical device for use in spinal surgeries.

Outside of the office, Aubrie loves spending time outdoors with her family, gardening in her yard, going for hikes and walks, playing at the local neighborhood playgrounds, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen with her kids, although it is questionable whether they are better at helping or simply tasting.
